We haven't yet tried all the new places
that have opened recently, so the
following listing is based on our own
experience and
friends' opinion. Keep checking for
updates.

Things to do when there's no wind
Shopping
We start with this most important activity especially
since it concerns mainly your wife/girlfriend.
Retail therapy has been known to have amazing
appeasing powers !!
Supermarkets in Tarifa are generally quite expensive,
especially CONSUM, and with average goods quality.
LIDL tends to be cheaper and better.
If you can, shop in Algeciras, at CARREFOUR or the
newly opened HIPERCOR.
For a more intense shopping experience it is probably
best to drive along the motorway to Marbella, take the
ring road exit where MacDonalds is, and cross the
bridge to the Cañada shopping complex.
Also in Puerto Banus there is a huge Hipercor (look out
for the big COSTA MARBELLA sign)
Funnily enough we have found that the best quality fruit
and veg, bread etc.. are to be found in Safeway in
GIBRALTAR. You can also cruise down main street and
shop for the usual duty free electronic stuff and booze.
Try to cross the border into Gibraltar befor 9 am to avoid
the queue on the way in and get out before 3 or 4 pm to
avoid it on the way out.
